ICRS 2014

Dear ICRS9 participants,

It is only a week since the ICRS9 conference ended, and we are now in the process of summarizing various aspects of this successful conference in order to succeed also in the next one which will take place in 2016!

We had 220 participants which included 182 scientists from academia, out of which 142 were students, 29 scientists from industry, 3 clinicians and 3 representatives from governmental offices.

We succeeded to bring to the ICRS9 conference participants from diverse disciplines related to drug delivery systems and controlled release of bioactive materials- from basic, applied, industrial and clinical research and enable them to interact with each other and hopefully seed some new collaborations.

With the aid of the generous sponsorships, we awarded a total of 8 Poster Prizes (First place to Limor Sertshuk-Kaneti, 2 Second places – to Michal Shevach and Aiman Abu-Ammar, 2 Third places -to Nitzan Marelly and Zvi Yaari and 3 Special Prizes sponsored by the Israel Cancer Association for Outstanding Cancer Research to Nizan Cauzmer, Yogita Patil and Galia Tiram), which were selected from 86 outstanding posters. The selecting committee had a really difficult task. Thanks to all the sponsors and Congratulations to ALL the Prize Awardees!

The social part, which included the everyday meals, the Cocktail and Gala Dinner, the “Tailor Made” band and the Quartet from the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra – were all a lot of fun, especially as all participants were so cooperative, Business Time Scanorama people (Ada, Ruthie, Alex) were so efficient and kind throughout the whole process, The Hacienda Forestview Hotel and Conference facility comfortable, and the food was superb!

We had a wonderful group of sponsors that helped to make this conference a success! Their contribution enabled us to sponsor a record number of students to register to the meeting! THANK YOU ALL!

Special thanks Henry Brem and Martyn Davies for coming here at these difficult times and sharing with us their wonderful research!

On a personal note- I thank my wonderful group members, mainly Anat and Dikla, who helped me organize this meeting and run the ICRS for the last 4 years!
